Thoughs that are just running thru the head

Posted By J Andrew on July 1, 2009

I am a strong believer that everything does happen for a reason.  Today i got a phone call from officeteam that they wanted to send me on an interview to AAA.  I thought it did go pretty well that they would tell me if i got the job on tuesday.  but that is besides the point.

I am sitting here lisenting to Lincoln Brewster again

Surely children weren’t made for the streets
And fathers were not made to leave
Surely this isn’t how it should be
Let Your Kingdom come

Surely nations were not made for war
Or the broken meant to be ignored
Surely this just can’t be what You saw
Let Your Kingdom come
Here in my heart

I will live
To carry Your compassion
To love a world that’s broken
To be Your hands and feet
I will give
With the life that I’ve been given
And go beyond religion
To see the world be changed
By the power of Your name

Surely life wasn’t made to regret
And the lost were not made to forget
Surely faith without action is dead
Let Your Kingdom come
Lord break this heart

Your name
Is a shelter for the hurting
Jesus Your name
Is a refuge for the weak
Only Your name
Can redeem the undeserving
Jesus Your name
Holds everything I need

though we may not know our purpose on this earth we can still share the gospel so that others may be saved :)

Morning Thoughts

Posted By J Andrew on June 30, 2009

i woke up this morning about 5 am feeling refrees in my living environment. And on the way to my dr’s appt i thought it would be a good idea to take the long way just to walk around and get some of the thoughts out of my head and just to have a clear frame of mind before going into see the therpist and here is what i came up with. I was listening to lincoln brewster this morning and heard this song “the power of your name” and it really hit home for me.

“Chours”
I will live
To carry Your compassion
To love a world that’s broken
To be Your hands and feet
I will give
With the life that I’ve been given
And go beyond religion
To see the world be changed
By the power of Your name

for me that really hit home. Sometimes you need to beyound the church and minister. So lets take some time and just reflect on what God is doing in our lives.

i guess i will leave it with that for now

just Wow!

well anyway today i woke up around 6:30 this morning feeling well rested. So i didnt get payroll yet, (its delayed 2 weeks :( )  so i set out for my morning walk.  Normally i head up to Albright’s Gym to walk on the treadmill for an hour or two but something told me that i didnt just want to that.  I walked out to Giant and walked the parking lot and I picked up some water to hold me over the rest of the day.  As usual they only have 2 lanes open in the AM and I seen the cashier struggling to keep up with the flow of customers.  So just out of the blue I tell just to start rolling stuff down the back and I started helping her to bag.  What really got to me though is i seen this elderly couple they were in there mid 50’s-60’s.  So anyway I bagged for them also.  But then when I went out in the parking lot i seen this lady trying to lift these bags into there minivan.  Once again out of the blue and out of my element i went over and assited her to load the groceries in her car.  She did offer me money for the help and normally I would have accepted but something in me declined.  And I really dont know what came over me but i uddered to her something that “all good deeds get awarded at some point in life”.  now Here I am sitting on the couch just reflecting on what went down this morning and I can actually say I feel good about what i did but i really am thinking about this and I think for me this was a sign of maybe things yet to come

What have you done to show some random stranger love today?

Reflection for Tuesday

Posted By J Andrew on June 16, 2009

I spent most of the day laying on the couch in the apartment running thoughts over my head.  I decided that i needed to seek more answers.  I spent time reflecting in scripture and thru lyrics by some popular artists, such as big daddy weave, Jeremy camp and newsboys, and here is what i came out this.

Revelations 21:4
they’re his people, he’s there God.  He’ll wipe away every tear from their eyes.  Death is gone for good, tears gone, crying gone, pain gone, all the first order of things gone.

Romans 8:18-21
that’s why i dont’t think there’s any comparison between the present hard times and the coming good times.  The created world itself can harldy wait for what’s coming next.  Everything in creation is being more or less held back.  God reins it in until both creation and all the creatures are ready and can be released at the same moment into the glories times ahead.  Meanwhile the joy and anticipation deepens.
